  10. Quantum Leap and DMI Offer Instant One Gigabyte BBS

  12. For the first time, any user with a Macintosh, a modem and a CD-ROM
  13. drive can operate a one gigabyte BBS with little or no effort.
  14.   
  15. DMI Systems of Quebec has just released a new product that allows
  16. the BBS operator to instantly install and operate a 1,200 megabyte
  17. Macintosh bulletin board system. DMI Systems offers integrated,
  18. pre-built Second Sight menus and file directories for Quantum Leap
  19. Technologies' Giga-ROM CD-ROM Archival Library, a collection of 11,676
  20. shareware and public domain files in Bill Goodman's new Compact Pro
  21. compression/archive format.

  23. Weighing in at over one billion bytes, the Giga-ROM is far and away
  24. the world's largest volume of software on a single CD-ROM disc.
  25. Because CD-ROMs are a read-only medium, the entire software collection
  26. is both unerasable and uninfectable, and unlike hard disk-based
  27. systems, requires absolutely no maintenance.

  29. DMI's "Directories and Menus for the Giga-ROM" provides the Second
  30. Sight sysop with a 'one step' installation process that allows the
  31. user to install and interface the disc to his Second Sight BBS in less
  32. than 30 minutes. The 142 directories and 158 pre-built menus
  33. correspond on a one-to-one basis with the layout of the Giga-ROM
  34. providing the same organizational scheme that direct access provides.

  36. DMI's "Directories and Menus” also includes a complete keyword
  37. searchable Archie compatible ASCII index so users can quickly search
  38. the disc contents to locate files of interest by executing a single
  39. menu command. The entire index file can also be downloaded by BBS
  40. users for off-line searching and reference. A run-time version of
  41. Archie by Pete Johnson is included with the package.

  43. The Giga-ROM itself contains a comprehensive On Location index for
  44. use with this speedy disk navigation and file utility desk accessory
  45. from On Technology.

  47. The Menus and Directories product carries a list price of $69. The
  48. Giga-ROM lists for $199. The two products are available as a bundled
